Changes

July 2nd, 2011 by Mike Elliot

Now that some of us are feeling the effects of the pay cut and the County imposed impass hit us, I wonder if we can manage to lift the yoke of this impass only to scuttle the entire County budget. Since both of the are tied to one another. Gov. Brown has raided the cities’ general funds so money will be “funny” for next year. So I would not be surprised if we might be going thru this exactly a year from now. Just watch Eastvale and Jurupa Valley growing pains.

New Year

January 13th, 2011 by Mike Elliot

Sorry for the delay, my Internet has been down for a while. Strangely, it was Verizon that had the problem. Anyway, 2011 brings new hope for the coming year. I have been looking for a new forum for us to get together since PH Woods is gone. If you have some ideas as to where, please make comments or contact me.

PH Woods Closed

November 22nd, 2010 by Mike Elliot

Our long time establishment has unexpectedly closed down. In its heyday it was a happening place after work when I was at Moreno Valley. I am truly sorry to see it go, another victim of the Inland Empire economy. We will look for other venues for our operation.

Success

November 3rd, 2010 by Mike Elliot

As you all know, we had a meeting last friday (10/29). It was one of the better meeting we have ever had. I would like to thank  Atty. Eric Isaac of the Richard T. Fields Association, Eric talk to us about his personnel experiences and he had some great ideas that we can hopefully work together on. The Honourable Judge Richard T. Fields spoke to our small but hardy group; his experiences of hard work and dedication resounded with us. His interest in our organization is in for the long haul. For the people who were there, a very big thank you. For those who were not there, I have faith.  I must admit, it was exciting and I am working on new ideas. Hope to hear from you soon.

Faith

September 27th, 2010 by Mike Elliot

OK folks, here is the news for the day, we have a guest speaker. In my opinion I could not be happier– the Honourable Judge Richard T. Fields. He  is creating the Richard T. Fields Bar Association Inc. Therefore our next meeting will be October 29, 2010 at 1800hrs (6:00pm) at PH Woods in Moreno Valley (Alessandro Blvd. X Frederick Ave.). I can’t tell you how important this next meeting is; we can discuss our paths of struggle to achive, our present condition, and what the future brings us. There will be some topics we can discuss and it will be good to see all of you there.

Memories and Movement

July 30th, 2010 by Mike Elliot

The last few months have been hard for me and I would think for anybody who has worked at this department any length of time. First we lost Sgt. Allen, then the lost of Corr. Sgt. Triplett (wonderful program) and just this past Tuesday (7/27) I buried my Grandmother, Maxine Williamson. Her death was personnel; She was the first and only family member to approve of me becoming a Deputy Sheriff. She was 95 years old but sharp in the mind still. Her death was sudden but quick. If I can leave you with just one thought: Tell the people that are  close to you that you love them and give them a hug. You just don’t know!

On a lighter note, congratulations to SGT. Linda Hughes, it has been a long time coming. Do well and enjoy! I think a BBQ would be a great idea. I’m still working on a few things, but it is slow. My great fear is that a guest speaker shows up but no one else. But I will fight the good fight and see what happens.
